This was the last song I wrote for this EP and I finished it about a week before MAGFest, though I hope you can't really tell that by listening to it. A version of the melody found in the break-in and reprisal sections of this song was going to be basis of a prog-rock/heavy metal-style song, but I figured that there were enough of those on the EP, so I tried my hand at a drum and bass song. I can tell you right now: this song's style is probably going to be a big part of the style of the concept album I have planned for September/October this year. #spapcednb

After I settled on the style I was going to write, I did some research by listening to State of Mind's "Eat the Rich", Billain's "Colossus EP", and some of Trey Frey's stuff. When listening to the latter, I thought I'd figured out the way he created his ridiculous basses/synths in "Resolve" off of REFRESH (which you should listen to, because that is one of the best chip album out there sound design-wise). So I put that to use in a way that best emulated my style while evolving it around the dnb format. I have to thank Sean again here for giving me a simplified explanation of the structure and concepts of dnb songs. Without him, this song probably wouldn't have been completed on time would have been lopped off the release.

And yes, that's me on those cheesy vocal samples. I just pitched my voice down a half step and layered two sample channels over each other to give it more oomph and kinda disguise who was speaking.
